Polina Perstneva, ancienne doctorante du LMO et actuellement postdoc au CMAP de l’Ecole Polytechnique, est lauréate du Prix "Jeunes Talents France 2025 L’Oréal-UNESCO Pour les Femmes et la Science". Les travaux de Polina Perstneva récompensés par ce prix incluent ceux de sa thèse au LMO, dirigée par Guy David et soutenue en décembre 2023.

Réuni en séance extraordinaire le vendredi 10 octobre 2025, le Conseil de Laboratoire du LMO a voté à l’unanimité la motion suivante :

— des départs de gestionnaires depuis 2022, non remplacés par le CNRS et non compensés par l’Université Paris-Saclay,

— du rapport HCERES de juin 2025 qui constate le manque criant de moyens du pôle gestion du LMO,

— de l’expérience quotidienne de chacun dans le laboratoire,

demande aux tutelles d’assurer leurs obligations pour régler ces questions et soutient sans réserves l’équipe de direction dans ses demandes …

C'est avec une immense tristesse que nous vous faisons part du décès, samedi 4 octobre au matin, de notre collègue et ami Gérard Laumon.

Gérard avait appris qu’il était malade en juillet 2024, et son état de santé s’était considérablement aggravé au cours de l’été dernier. Depuis lors, physiquement très affaibli, il n’était pas revenu au département. Gérard avait souhaité continuer à vivre chez lui, en restant autonome, aussi longtemps que possible, et n’a voulu être hospitalisé que mardi dernier. Gérard était au plus mal depuis jeudi — mais a conservé jusqu’à la fin toute sa lucidité — et vendredi …

Pour les IUF Junior, il s'agit d'Amaury Freslon et de Luca Nenna.

Pour les IUF Senior, il s'agit de Gilles Blanchard et de Bertrand Maury.

L'annonce des nouvelles nominations à l'IUF a été relayée par l'Université Paris-Saclay.

Organized by a group of first-year undergraduate students, and in celebration of International Women's Day, this morning's event aims to showcase the work and lives of female mathematicians, both well-known and lesser-known, who have made significant contributions to their field. Student-initiated presentations will be presented, followed by a screening of the documentary film "Secrets of the Surface: The Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani."

The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. this Saturday, March 8, at the IMO (Yoccoz Amphitheater). Student representatives from the Student Union will offer a free breakfast starting at 8:45 a.m.
